Nora: The Eurovision Song Contest.

Sometimes known simply as ‘Eurovision’, this annual song contest is the longest-running internationally-televised music competition in the world. It’s known globally for its extravagant performances, its accepting attitudes, and its incredible diversity.

Participating countries must submit an original song to be performed live. Viewers then cast their votes. Whichever act receives the most votes wins the competition. Whenever possible, their country will go on to host the next year’s event.

Previous winners include ABBA, Celine Dion, and Maneskin. This year Swedish artist Loreen won first prize. She made history by becoming the first woman to win the contest twice, having previously lifted the trophy in 2012.
