Nora: The Coronation of King Charles III.

On May 6th, millions of people around the world celebrated the coronation of Charles III, King of the United Kingdom and 14 other Commonwealth realms, including Jamaica, New Zealand and Canada.He was crowned in a symbolic ceremony at London’s Westminster Abbey. His wife, the Duchess of Cornwall, was crowned alongside him, as Queen Consort.

The ceremony featured many ancient customs and traditions, some over 1000 years old. It began with a procession, where the royals made their way from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Abbey in a beautiful golden carriage.Crowds of people lined the streets, waving flags and welcoming the new king. Street parties were also held all over the country. The ceremony ended with a 6 minute ‘fly-past’. Hundreds of planes flew over London, performing spectacular aerial displays in honor of Charles III.
