Tylor: Here we are. Anping Fort, the oldest fort in Taiwan.
我們到了。安平古堡是台灣最古老的堡壘。

Nancy: The oldest one? When was the fort built?
最古老？它是什麼時候建的？

Tylor: It was built about 300 years ago, in 1624, during Dutch occupation. At that time, the fort used to be an international business center in Asia.
它大約建於300年前的荷蘭佔領時期，西元1624年。那時候，這座堡壘曾經是亞洲的國際商業中心。

Nancy: Impressive! And how about the statue over there? The statue looks Chinese.

Tylor: It's the statue of Zheng Cheng Gong, the loyal General from the Ming Dynasty, who expelled the Dutch. Afterwards, the castle became the residence for Zheng's family for three generations.

Nancy: Look at the wall! It is all covered in trees, and the material looks a little special.

Tylor: It's the ruins of the old city wall, which was made from glutinous rice, brown sugar and oyster shells. That is because there was no concrete 300 years ago.
