Angela:I would like to enroll my son at a local elementary school in Tainan. Do you know how to apply for a school located here?
我想要讓我兒子進入臺南本地的小學就讀，你知道如何申請這裡的學校嗎？

Stephen: I think its okay for children of foreigners to attend schools here in Tainan, but you have to check with your local schools to confirm. I heard there is a rule that if you have an Alien Resident Certificate, then you are eligible to enroll at the school.
外國人的小孩要上臺南的學校是可以的，但你必須和當地學校確認。我聽說有個規定是只有外國人居留證就能註冊。

Angela:Can I choose any school I like, or are there some restrictions?
我可以選擇任何我喜歡的學校嗎? 還是有其他限制？

Stephen: As far as I know, you should check with schools close to your home, as local schools have a certain catchment area. The school year starts in September, so it's probably a good idea to apply during the summer. You should check with the school to find out about the application procedure. I think local schools have a quota for foreign students.
就我所知，你應該向離家近的學校確認，因為每所學校都有自己的學區。學年是從9月份開始，所以可能最好在夏季時申請。你應該向學校確認申請程序。我想當地學校對於外籍生是有名額限制的。

Stephen: You could try the school my children went to. It's quite easy to get to, it's not too large, and the teachers are friendly.
