內政部為強化外國人友善生活環境，於2021年起施行新式外來人口統一證號，新式證號比照國人身分證編碼，讓外國人在開戶、網購、購票...等檢核時，更為便利不卡卡，期望讓在臺灣的外國朋友們，感受到生活品質提升與滿滿的歸屬感! From January 2, 2021, the National Immigration Agency of the Ministry of the Interior started to replace and issue the new UI No. for foreign nationals in order to provide a friendly living environment for international communities in Taiwan. The new format of the UI No. matches the ID code used for ROC citizens, so it makes it a lot easier to create bank accounts, book tickets, shop online, and even buy face masks. This effort to improve the living environment is aimed to encourage overseas friends to live in Taiwan and promote a more bilingual nation.
